Asvegra was founded in 1983 by G. Gozzetti with S.Fava, P. Fasolo, E. Novello.
These psychiatrists have been committed for some 30 years to the transformation of public psychiatry; they thought that organizational change is affective only if accompanied by a profound technical and cultural change of every profession involved.
Psychopathological an phenomenological thinking was the cultural matrix, mostly deriving from Prof. F. Barison's teaching; but soon in time psychoanalytic training, institutional experiences and transformations, and above all a wide practise in group therapy techniques added into ASVEGRA's original melting-pot.
Prof. S. Resnik, in particular, is our honorary President being our original and creative re-source for(group) analytic psychotherapy f psychotic patients.
Physicians and psychologists can join ASVEGRA, when adequately trained thriugh personal analysis (group or individual), and share ASVEGRA's ideas and projects.
ASVEGRA organizes seminars, supervisions and cultural meeting for member and interested outsider, both from private and public institutions, meaning to evolving:
- ways to use psychoanalytic training and techniques in psychotherapeutic work, not only in the public psychiatric setting
- ways to apply groupanalysis and empirical research findings in the moot different effective "cure and care" setting
- ways to integrate psychiatry, phenomenology and psychoanalysis together.
